Hello all!
I wanted to let everyone know that there will be a new healing centre opening up May 1st on the drive, the Heart Quest Healing Centre. #204-2250 Commercial Drive (next to the Van East Cinema, above the vegetarian association).
There will be a variety of holistic health professionals providing a range of different treatments such as Shamanic healing, psychodrama therapy, art therapy, sacred sound, counselling, reiki, massage and bodywork. There will also be a large space for workshops (I know i am personally looking forward to the shamanic workshops!).
A friend and I will be renting out a room 5 days a week(wed-sun)for Reiki, Bodywork and Massage. I want it to be a space available and accessible for everyone. I would like to offer discounts to seniors, students, and low income employees.
What I would like to know from you...
Do you recieve any type of bodywork and if not, why not?
what prevents you from getting a massage/reiki/bodywork treatment?
If you think it costs too much, what cost do you think is reasonable? How much would you pay?
I'm going to be completely honest and tell you how much it is going to cost me ... and from there you can put it into a perspective of what a bodywork treatment should cost.
i will be paying approx $400/month to use a space 2 1/2 days per week. I also have the cost of insurance(not cheap!), business liscense, essential oils, massage oils, linens, laundry, and transport to and fro.
It works out to about $600 per month. (eek!)
Why am I doing this? i believe in bringing healing to the community. I love the commercial drive area, and I would like to have treatments available to everyone!!
I have training in massage and bodywork (swedish, deep tissue, deep flow, reflexology, shiatsu, ayurvedic massage, joint release...), herbal medicine, aromatherapy, bach flower remedies, ayurveda and shamanic healing. I am a Reiki master in Usui and Sekhem-Seichim Reiki and a master clinical hypnotherapist. All my knowledge comes together in each treatment i give, providing a safe place for healing to take place on all levels- body, mind, spirit, emotional and energetic.
I have experienced what it is like to have a truly holistic treatment, some time to myself to reconnect with my body and my inner healer. It's an amazing experience that i would like to share with everyone i can.
I encourage people to send me an e-mail and ask me any questions they wish, and let me know any fears they may have about coming for a treatment. I welcome all feedback and suggestions.
